Transfers

A transfer is a move between two places in the budget — from one envelope to another, or from a fund into the month. It is the one financial operation that must always move both legs at once: money leaves one place and lands in the other, nothing in between, nothing lost.

Both legs, one operation

A transfer in Our Konomy is atomic: the source leg and the destination leg happen together or not at all. There is no in-flight money and no half-done move. That is what conservation means — the total is the same before and after.

The source must be able to pay

You can only transfer from an envelope that actually has the money. Source sufficiency is checked before the move is recorded — a transfer that would overdraw its source simply does not exist.

A record that says 'not spending'

A transfer is never an expense and never income. It is a movement with its own line, so at the close you can read exactly where money moved and why — and the spending numbers stay clean.
