Budget articles
An article is the building block of an Our Konomy budget: a named envelope with a planned amount and a running ledger of what actually moved in and out of it. Food, rent, vacation fund — the article is the job, and the amount is the decision.
A plan, then a ledger
Every article starts as a plan in the draft: a name and an amount. When the month opens, the article becomes a ledger — every expense, income or adjustment that touches it is recorded against it, line by line.
Open months stay editable
While a month is open, the article's own rows can be edited or deleted: a typo in the amount, a category that was wrong, a bill that came in smaller. The moment the month closes, the article's ledger becomes history — immutable by design.
The close reads every article
Closing the month settles each article: planned minus spent, and the remainder carries forward. That is why a good budget has a small number of well-named articles — the close is only as clear as the names.
